This unique trip does not include entrance fees to the monuments and sights of Paris. This provides you an opportunity to make this a trip that you can personalize. You can join the tour leader daily or go about touring on your own.
Fri. April 12, 2019 LAX
Depart LAX on a direct flight to Paris on Air France.
Sat. April 13 – Paris, France
Arrive in the City of Lights, Paris, France! We board our bus at the airport and drive into the city. After a brief orientation of Paris we arrive at the hotel and check-in. Your tour leader will familiarize you with the area surrounding the hotel. Hotel Castiglione
Sun. April 14 – Paris
After breakfast we take the métro to the Latin Quarter and start a walking tour of the left bank. We pass the ancient Roman Baths of Paris continuing down the Boulevard St. Michel to the Pantheon and finish at one of Paris’ oldest outdoor marketplace – The Mouffetard. Your tour leader takes you back to the Latin Quarter where you can find plenty of different restaurants for lunch and then the tour continues to Notre Dame Cathedral and the very charming St. Chappelle. Mon. April 15 – Paris
Weather permitting we start our tour with a ride on the RER to the magnificent Eiffel Tower.
From the tower is a short walk to a very Parisian street, Rue Cler, this is a good place to have lunch and shop. The tour makes its way back to the Champs Élysées with a walk to the Arc de Triomphe.
How about a boat ride on the River Seine tonight? Hotel Castiglione (B)
Tues. April 16 – Paris
A morning walk through the Place de la Concorde across the River to the Musée d’Orsay. You can have your lunch in the Museum or have a nice lunch in one of the many cafés in the area.
Time permitting we will continue the day to the Rodin Museum or you might choose the Tomb of Napoleon; the two museums are very close to each other. Hotel Castiglione (B)
Wed. April 17 – Paris – Giverny, Normandy
After an early breakfast we board our private bus and drive for 1 ½ hours heading north to Giverny to the home of the painter Claude Monet. The gardens will be in full bloom and will absolutely captivate you with its beauty!
We return to Paris for lunch and then visit the l’Orangerie Museum to see the incredible waterlilies (Les Nympheas) painted by Claude Monet. How about a delicious dessert and famous hot chocolate at Angelina’s? Hotel Castiglione (B)
Thurs. April 18 – Paris – Versailles
In the morning we take a local train to the city of one of the largest castles in the world – Chateau Versailles. Your tour leader will help you purchase your ticket and take you through the Chateau and then visit the gardens after you have lunch in the small and pleasant city of Versailles next to the Chateau. This can be a full day or half day depending on whatever you prefer. Tonight perhaps we could visit Montmartre and enjoy a beautiful evening view of Paris. Hotel Castiglione (B)
Friday April 19 – Paris
Today is a good day for shopping! We walk to the Department Stores passing the magnificent Garnier Opera house to finish our last minute shopping. In the evening we visit the Louvre Museum. Hotel Castiglione (B)
