Enjoy breakfast and begin a full day tour in the smallest country in the world, the Vatican City. Visit St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. The local English speaking guide will take you through and give you a complete tour.After lunch in a local restaurant the tour continues with a photo stop at the Coliseum, a tour of the Pantheon – Rome’s temple to the gods is remarkably intact considering that it was built in 27 B.C. Continue the tour to view the Trevi Fountain and the Piazza di Spagna, the longest and widest staircase in all of Europe, the Spanish Steps. Diana Hotel    (B,L)

Sat. June 29              Rome –  San Gimignano   –   Florence

Board the long distance coach after breakfast and head north through Tuscany to a charming city famous for its 14 stone towers, San Gimignano. Your guide will take you on a walking tour to explore this small walled medieval hill town. Lunch is on a farm in the green hillside above San Gimignano, Fattoria San Donato.
Along with the fresh organic meal you have an opportunity to taste a couple of local Tuscan wines. After lunch continue to the capital of Tuscany, Florence. Hotel Diplomat  (B, L, D)

Sun. June 30             Florence

Florence was the hub of medieval European trade and finance and one of the wealthiest cities of that time.
Enjoy the entire day discovering this grand city of Italian culture with your English speaking guide. You’ll visit the Ponte Veccio, the Duomo Santa Maria Del Fiore, and of course the Galleria dell’Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David.  Hotel Diplomat   (B, L, D)

Mon. July 1             Florence – Pisa – Venice Mestre  

West of Florence is the city of Pisa. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of Europe’s most famous towers. Construction on the tower started in 1173 but wasn’t finished until the late fourteenth century. The cylindrical tower, 180 feet tall, has eight stories, six of them with open galleries. After lunch sit back and revel in the beauty of the countryside as you cross the country to Venice.  Starhotels Splendid Venice     (B, D)

Tues. July 2            Venice Mestre – Murano Island  –  Burano Island – Venice  

Venice is situated across a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by 400 bridges. Board a private boat and head to Murano Island, famous for its century old craft of glass blowing. Next is Burano Island known for its lace work and brightly colored homes.
Travel back to Venice to view the Bridge of Sighs and then enter San Marco Basilica through the San Pietro Door and the Doges Palace. Starhotels Splendid Venice     (B, D)

Wed. July 3             Venice – Verona  –  Sirmione –  Brescia

Depart Venice after breakfast and it’s a short drive to Verona. Your guide leads you on a walking tour to visit Juliet’s Garden, the 1st century AD Arena of Verona, and the Piazza delle Erbe with its Renaissance-era palaces and lovely central fountain; this might be the prettiest piazza in all of Italy.
It’s a short drive to Sirmione on the largest lake in Italy, Lake Garda. Delight in a cruise on the lake before continuing on to the ancient city of Brescia. Brescia s situated at the foot of the Alps and was founded over 3,200 years ago. Blu Hotel Brixia     (B, D)

Thurs. July 4            Brescia – Milan

It’s a short bus ride from Brescia to Milan. Tour the remarkable city of Milan. Visit the magnificent Duomo and the Duomo Museum plus wander through the amazing Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle. These are the 3 iconic treasures of the city of Milan. After you will have a short ride to most beautiful lake in the world Lake Como. Fri. July 5                   Milan – LAX

Transfer to the Airport and return home with wonderful memories of ancient civilizations and beautiful Italy.
